The short version
- There are no accounts, and nothing you type into a calculator is sent to us. The calculations run in your browser.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools are used. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and wherever your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics cookies are off.
- We don't currently show ads and don't set any advertising cookies.
Calculator inputs
Prices, states and other values you enter stay in your browser. If you use “Share link”, those values are put in the link you copy, and only the people you share it with see them. We record which calculator was used, for example “vehicle calculator, Texas”, but not the amounts you enter.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode. Where analytics storage is allowed, Google sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to tell new visits from returning ones. We see aggregated reports: pages viewed, rough location (country or region), device type and how you arrived. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics 4. Where analytics storage is denied, Google receives only cookieless signals that can't identify you across visits. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
You can block analytics with your browser's Global Privacy Control setting, a content blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on.
Advertising
No ads run on the site at the moment. If we turn them on, we'll update this page first, and where the law requires consent we'll ask for it before any advertising cookies are set.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard request logs (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Netlify's privacy policy.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to fix the issue you raised. We don't add you to any list.
Children
The site is meant for adults and doesn't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access or delete personal data about you. We hold almost none, but email hello@thecalcdesk.com and we'll help, including with requests about analytics data.
Changes
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes.
